宽基础的素质教育
学院为培养高素质应用型人才,实行“宽基础+精专业”的人才培养模式。实行宽基础教育的主要目的是为了培养提高学生的综合素质,为其今后的事业发展奠定相关的基础。 学院的宽基础教育主要表现在如下几个方面:
● 全院各专业都要学习三门数学课程:《微积分》、《线性代数》和《应用统计》
● 全院各专业都要学习经济学(微观经济学48学时,宏观经济学48学时),并采用国际通用的教学大纲和最优秀的外文原版教材
● 全院各专业都要学习《汉语应用写作》
● 公共英语安排为352学时,比同类院校多72学时
● 学院安排有法律、文学、历史、哲学、人文、艺术、自然科学、经营管理、信息技术及社会行为科学十大类通识课程,要求学生必须选学其中八类。

Quality Education
with a Wide Range of Basic Courses Aiming at cultivating all-round talents with practical capability to meet the demands of the modern socialist construction, our institute practices the education model of "a Wide Range of Basic Courses + a Selective Range of Specialized Courses". The quality education with a wide range of basic courses can lead a good foundation for students' future development. This quality education is represented by the following aspects:
* All the undergraduate students in each major have to take 3 courses about mathematics, including Calculus, Linear Algebra and Applied Statistics.
* All the undergraduate students in each major have to take Economics (Microeconomics 48 credit hours and Macroeconomics 48 credit hours), using the teaching outlines of the international first-class universities and the best original foreign textbooks.
* All the undergraduate students in each major have to take Applied Chinese Writing.
* We offer 480 hours of English classes for non-English major students, which is 200 hours more than that in any other institute.
* In addition, students are supposed to choose 8 subjects as selective courses from the following 10 fields: Law, Literature, History, Philosophy, Humanities, Arts, Natural Science, Business and Management, Information Technology, and Sociology.

精专业的培养教育
学生的专业能力是他们今后求职的最重要指标,而学生的专业能力是靠良好的专业教育来实现的。专业教育主要体现一个“精”字,课程设置少而精,教学内容少而精,注重理论联系实际,学会融会贯通。学院根据社会对专业细化的实际要求,结合国外大学专业培养的经验,将一个大专业方向细分为多个小专业方向,力求实现人才培养的针对性和提高今后学生择业的适应性。
同时,每个专业方向都根据实际工作的需要,设置3~6门比较实用的课程。

Specialization Education with a Selective Range of Specialized Courses
Students' academic ability originates from specialization education in the university, which is definitely an important index for their future job-hunting. Specialization education means a selective range of curriculum and teaching contents, focusing on theory-based practicing and drawing inferences about other cases from one instance. In order to meet the specialization demands of the society, we consult the major-cultivating experiences from overseas universities and divide a general major into several specific major fields. We will do our best to strengthen the pertinency in cultivation education and improve students’ adaptability in job-hunting.
In addition, we set 3 to 6 practical courses for each major field according to the demands of practical work.

全面强化外语
为了增强学生英语学习的效果,提高学生的英语运用水平,学院大幅度增加英语课时,课内学时数多达480学时。公共英语教学安排综合英语课,英语听说课,写作课,并采用小班授课方式,以听说为主,扩大师生交流,使学生彻底摆脱“哑巴英语”。从二年级下学期开始,部分专业陆续采用英文原版教材,教师双语授课,外教授课,不断提高英语学习质量。此外,学院还设有外语广播电台、英语俱乐部、英语角、英语论坛,并经常举办英语演讲比赛,为学生学习英语创造良好的环境与氛围。

Strengthened Foreign Language Education
In order to improve students' English level, English credit hours are increased on a large scale up to 480 credit hours. The College English courses are Integrated English, Listening and Speaking, and English Writing. Small classes are adopted to make communication easier between teachers and students, mainly focusing on speaking and listening, and no "Grammar only". Original English textbooks are adopted since the second semester of sophomores, and the courses are taught with bi-lingual languages, or by the international teachers to improve the qualityof their academic English. Moreover, the English club regularly arranges many activities, such as English corner, movie appreciation, English lecture, English speaking contest, English drama, English talent show and English songs competition. These activities, together with English Everyday, English newspaper and English radio station, create a nice English learning atmosphere for the students.

灵活的考核方式
学院课程考核取消补考,同时淡化期末考试,采用“平时考核和期末考核相结合”方式,注重对学生能力的日常考核,转变一考定终身的传统做法。鼓励教师采取综合运用知识的“大作业”方式取代传统的测验和考试。学院期末考核内容不出偏题、怪题,主要考对基本知识的消化和理解,重点考察学生的实际应用能力。

Flexible Assessing Methods
Makeup exams are cut away and the traditional assessing system is changed into combining daily performance and final examination, paying much attention to assessing students' daily performance. Teachers are encouraged to give students coursework instead of traditional tests or examinations. The final examination will mainly test students' understanding of basic knowledge and their ability to apply the knowledge, without giving too difficult or impractical questions.

学分制与辅修专业制
学院实施学分制管理制度,学生可根据本人学习能力,只要修满学校规定的学分,即可提前毕业;学生也可在规定的年限内延后毕业。 学院面向全体学生实行辅修专业制,只要学生提出申请,即可参加辅修专业学习。学生完成辅修专业的课程,成绩合格,由学院颁发辅修专业证书。

Credit System and Second Major Study
Undergraduates can graduate early or prolong the terms as long as they can get the required credits according to their abilities. Students can take some second major study subjects after applying for them. They will be issued certificates after completing the required courses with qualifying grades.

实行本科生导师制
学院实行学生学习导师制。学院为每个班级配备导师,全面指导并管理学生的学习。导师的工作主要体现在尊重差异,因材施教,指导学生的学习,关心学生的生活,帮助学生确立人生发展目标。

Tutor System
Tutor system is applied in our school. Every class has a tutor to direct their study ,take care of their daily life and help them establish their proper life goals according to each individual circumstance.

学生二次选择专业
从2005年起,学院录取的新生可以在入学后根据自己的意愿二次选择专业,二次选择专业可以在第一学期开学前或就读一年后进行。学院这种措施打破了传统的一次性定位,给学生重新选择的机会,充分调动了学生的学习积极性,激发他们的学习潜能,有利于学生成长成才。

Re-selection of the majors
Since 2005, the freshmen are allowed to re-select their majors at their own will after enrollment or after one-year study. It can provide the second chance for the students to choose their majors, arousing their enthusiasm in studying, and bringing their potentials into full play.
